Team Building Guidance For Kids
Team building activities are fun and enjoyable ways to develop cooperation and cohesion among children. Through hands-on, creative ways of opening communication, children learn how to share and play with others in a constructive way. Additionally, these activities offer multiple opportunities for children to grow as individuals. A few team-building activities for kids are as follows:

Tug Of War: Find a rope first. Then segregate the children into two teams. Make each team stand in a line in such a way that it faces the opposite team. Put a mark or knot a ribbon at the center of rope and give its opposite ends to each team. Also, put a mark or line on the ground which none of the team should cross. The team that crosses the mark of the ground first loses the game. This exercise requires team members to analyze things, such as placing strong individuals in the front and back and weaker ones in between.

All In Activity:
Find ropes of five different lengths- twenty feet, fifteen feet, ten feet and five feet. Then tie the ends of every rope to form a circle. Tell the group of children to collect inside the circle formed by a rope, with no body part left outside. Start with the longest twenty feet rope. After they have successfully done that, tell them to gather inside the circle of the fifteen foot rope. Repeat the process with successive smaller rope until the children gather in the circle formed by the smallest five feet rope. As the sizes of the circles decrease, fitting into them will become more and more difficult and the children would require ever-increasing level of creativity and cooperation to accomplish the task.

Treasure Hunt: This game comprises of several teams. Each team is given a hint that leads to a target where the subsequent hint is hidden. The game goes on till a team finds out all hints and the ultimate treasure. This game needs effective coordination and cooperative effort. It is a very simple game and instills a spirit of teamwork amongst children.

Human Knot: Every child in the group stands in a circle facing each other. Have people take their right hand and grab the right hand of another in the circle. Continue by joining people's left hands while making sure each team member grabs right and left hands of two different people. There should be a tangled web of arms amongst this circle, and the goal is to unwind this knot, without letting go of hands, until everyone is once again standing in a circle still holding hands.

The best team building exercises are those that always place children in different groups. While it might be very easy to work with the same individuals again and again, the ability to move to different groups is a skill that can be very valuable when one grows up. Since the children would not choose their colleagues at workplace when they become adults, developing a high level of tolerance for different individuals is of great help.
